My week at a glance...
I'm scheduled for Monday morning to reenlist in the CG, so all week I've been having second thoughts. I'm excited for the bonus... nervous about three more years of the commitment (can't back out after it's done) but the bonus will provide a much needed payoff for some of our debt... between that and tax return in january we'll finally finally finally be where we should be and get to keep a little profit from our paychecks for the first time in our marriage...it's bittersweet really, but worth it for my family, and our sanity, so here we go again!
Alex is thinking about mobility and even though I'm uber-excited, I'm also very very nervous about that too! There's so much more that could go wrong that way! Even without crawling or walking he's already gotten enough bumps on the head to last him til adolescence!
This week I created my list of 101 goals I've set for myself to do in the next 1001 days! Since I'm a list- fanatic I'm so very much elated to have constructed such a massive list of to-dos and am so anxious to cross one off! Just have to decide which one, or wait to see how things pan out... I wonder which will be first... To see my list pan over to my left sidebar, the title 101 in 1001 days gives it away :)
That just reminded me of that song that says little things give you away... I think it's Linkin Park.. not really sure, but I like it. There are a lot of songs I've rediscovered lately that have a lot more meaning than I realized. It's even better when I hear one that I haven't heard in ten or fifteen years and I've always known all of the words, but never realized, or thought about, what they mean. So, when I hear them this long after the fact and I catch myself singing along, I'll stop and think about the words and realize how deep some of the phrases are and it makes me feel a little enlightened. Words can mean so much sometimes.
I had a conversation with Jason a few nights ago about how we need to have more conversations. Have you ever had a conversation about having conversations... It consisted of things like We don't talk about important stuff. We're talking now. What should we talk about? Talking about our son is important... It was a really weird conversation, but it seems like I've just recently noticed that having a child puts parents in that place where the only thing they have to speak of is their child. We can go days without having an adult conversation about anything other than the baby, chores or money. It's not that we don't have anything in common or enjoy talking to eachother but sometimes at the end of the day when we have our little bit of time for adult conversation we're too tired to talk. It's easy to focus all attention on the baby and his goings on and glance over our need for adult talk, so this is something we're trying to focus on now.
See Mrs4444 at half past kissin time for more Friday Fragments, the linky to more, and rules on how to play :) Happy Friday!!

I'm sure the decision to go back into the CG is difficult. But at the same time it will be nice to keep some of a paycheck and you really can't beat military bonuses!
Awww, that is exciting that your little one is gaining mobility. I'm sure it's a catch 22 though...there's something about laying a baby down and knowing that they aren't going to go anywhere while you change out the laundry.
I've had a similar conversation with my hubby...you know the conversation conversation. haha. Here's hoping you get more conversations now that the topic's been discussed.
Hope your weekend is wonderful!
That list is awesome! I may have to try something like it!!!
I love that you make lists of goals and even better that you follow through! I wish I would do that!
Knocking debt out is a really good thing and you'll be happy about that when you do it, right?!
Good luck with your decision on going back into the CG. It is so important to take care of our debts in this awful economy. You're lucky you have that possibility to help your family to get ahead.
It is so exciting when our little ones are getting ready to make that first step. They are so cute at that age.
I enjoyed reading your post as always.
Thank you all for your comments! I'm actually just adding on to what I'm already doing, so I don't have to go back in, just make it longer, which was a BIG decision for me!!! I wanted to be a SAHM :(
Happy Saturday Sharefest!!
Sits!.
:)
P.S. I'd love if you visited my blog
Congrats on your reenlistment, I've been in the Army for 15 years now and I never thought I would be in this long, but I love it and compared to the private sector we have it pretty good as far as financial stability. Found your blog via SITS!
