Got these questions from Tam at Lollipops.
1. At this point in the game how do you feel about your blog? I love it as a journal. I'm really enjoying being able to vent or brag or whatever without feeling guilty or conceited or anything, because it's all about me and my family, so that's the whole purpose, right? And, noone has to read it if they think it's too over the top! I'm finally starting to figure out how to pretty it up too, so I'm really having fun with it!
2. What do you think about blog etiquette? I don't really know yet, other than commenting...
3. Have you ever gotten a comment that you disliked? Not yet, but I'm sure it'll catch up to me sometime, maybe when I get a little gutsier :)
4. How do you feel about comments? Are comments important to you? Yes, they are great for inspiration, constructive criticism and a sense of purpose and effect. They keep me going with my blog.
5. Would you ever turn off your comments but still blog? Don't think so. I think that is rude. When someone turns off their comments I don't feel much like reading their blog anymore because it seems kinda like they don't care if people read it or what they have to say. So, what's the point?
6. What do you think of the SO CALLED A LIST BLOGS? They're good for inspiration and ideas... good for useful information from the DIY-type ones...
7. Do you feel that if you comment regularly on a blog that the blogger should comment back to you? Yes. Not every single time, because nobody has the time for that, and that just seems insincere, to comment to someone else JUST because they commented to you, so it's a formality, but never would be rude!
8. Do you continue to comment on a blog if that blogger never acknowledges you? No. I will a few times before I give up though, because like I said, sometimes they just don't see it, there are too many, don't have the time, they'll get to me later. I'm a busy mom, I understand. But, never, like they don't even see it or think that it matters, what's the point, so no.
9. What do you think about the advertising on blogs? I think it's a great idea. The really successful bloggers that are making money off of it are doing just that! A source of income is a good thing, gives purpose, all that... Especially for the stay at home moms! And the companies always need/want advertising, so if they're willing to pay for it hells yeah!!
PS. If anyone can tell me how to do this, I'd love to know! I don't like the adsense thing, and I'd rather do something bigger, I see a lot of mommy blogs with babies r us or baby tylenol, or something related, ads on theirs and I'd like to know, how you get to do it?!? ?? I only want to put stuff up to advertise that we actually use and like and want to let others know about, not just whatever random crap might pop up! Any help??
10. Do you have any pet peeves that you would like to air about blogging right now? I just hate when I want to comment and for some reason it won't let me!! There's always just a big blank white space that says post a comment... whiteness... then the stupid subscribe to: Post comments (atom) ...whatever the heck that means and it makes me really mad because i have something to say and i can't and whenever I click on the stupid little thing it says something about downloading somethin, no thank you, wtff!!?
11. How do you pick the blogs you like to read? They are visually appealling, offer useful tips that apply to my life, enjoy, use, and actually respond to feedback/commenting, not to overstimulating (if that's a word).
12. When you decide to follow a blog what are the reason? I just like what they have to say, or the tips/tutorials they give.
13. How do you know that you have found a blogger that is honest and true? Don't know yet. I think you can just tell by their wording.
14. Do you think that a lot of bloggers make up things so that they can have a WOW factor and attract more people? Not a lot, but definitely some!
15. What are some of your favorite blogs and why? The ones that have tons of pictures that are really beautiful, the ones with lots of tutorials/tips (money-saving, homey, decorating, organization...)
16. How many of you follower BIG BLOGGERS? I am not listing them but you know like Pioneer, the D one and so forth. Well, I do have a few of those that I follow and I don't necessarily follow every little thing they say, but some of them are fun to read... Comment though?.. never. I did once or twice on one, actually asking a question and complimenting and all and never got an answer or any kind of response. I understand, like I said before, she may have missed it, but I didn't feel the love there. Love the little people too :)
This was fun! Now you know a little more about me! And since my main purpose in blogging is focused on my son, and adventures in mothering... here's a pic :)

Thaks for the birthday wishes this morning! I love your blog. You remind me so much of a real life friend. YOu look alike and sound alike. Her little girl is about a year.

I think a lot of people use BlogHer ads on their sidebar. Have you tried that? They have a waitlist but I just signed up for that last week. You could sign up for it too.
I have BlogHer on my site. The wait list didn't take all that long. They have really high standards and expectations, which I LOVE. AdSense is a little creepy sometimes. I mentioned my Thai sister-in-law once and you can imagine the ads AdSense put up there!
Also, because I'm a member of BlogHer, I've gotten sponsorship offers...
Go get yourself on the wait list now!!!
Good to read about you :o) As for the advertising, you can submit your site to BlogHer Ads and they have a process where they accept new blogs to put their ads on. I did it on a whim and it took a couple months, but I finally heard back from them.
